This common Mediterranean fish species is usually found on sandy bottoms are rocky reefs close to shore, often in pairs, looking for smaller invertebrates and fish to feed on. The coloration of the fish varies within shades of brown to beige and a pattern of stripes and blue dots. The fin edges are blue. As they crawl over the ground it may seems they are flying with their wing.like pectoral fins.
