The World Naked Bike Ride will return this summer, with the big nude ride set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, organizers announced Sunday.
A starting point will be unveiled at a later date.
Officially staged as a protest against oil dependency and for cyclist safety and body positivity, the annual ride sat out the first two COVID-19 summers before returning in 2022. Previous rides have drawn as many as 10,000 participants, organizers said.
Riders at the colorful event are encouraged to adopt their own causes as well, with bare backs and thighs doubling as canvases for protest signs.
Organizers are likely to keep the ride’s exact route under wraps, in order to protect riders from large crowds of looky-loos from gathering along the streets.
