ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The World Naked Bike Ride returns to the Grove Neighborhood Saturday.

Organizer and owner of Handlebar, Gatayana Telnikova tells KMOX this is the 12th year and riders will cover a "12 and a half mile loop all around the city, it starts and ends in the Grove. We're gonna leave at 6:00 pm sharp, and come back sometime around 8:00."

"The goal of the event is to protest dependency on oil," Telnikova says.

But that's not the only goal of the bike ride, it also is suppose to promote positive body image.  Telnikova says everyone will also have fun riding, and while clothing is optional, many people express themselves in many ways with little on.

When asked if police step in if some of the riders are naked, Telnikova said normally police do not intervene.

If you want to participate, just show up in the Grove by 5:00 p-m Saturday. It is free and open to everyone.
