Sony Is Showing Off A Bunch Of New ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ Content This Week

This article is more than 3 years old.

If you’ve been hoping to see more of Sony’s upcoming PS4 Samurai game Ghost of Tsushima you’re in luck. This Thursday’s ‘State Of Play’ will be entirely devoted to showing off more of the open-world game from Infamous developer, Sucker Punch.

The game is set during the Mongol invasion of Japan. You play as Jin Sakai, one of the last Samurai on Tsushima Island.

Sony says that the presentation will be around 18 minutes long and will include “an extended look at new gameplay footage, including exploration, combat and more.”

The presentation goes live this Thursday at 1 pm PT / 4 pm ET. You can watch it on Twitch or YouTube.

Ghost of Tsushima is one of two huge PS4 exclusives launching this summer. A month before it launches, Naughty Dog’s controversial The Last Of Us Part II lands. It’s a game I’m also very much looking forward to, controversy over leaks and the studio be damned.

In some ways, I’m looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima even more, however. It doesn’t look quite so bleak, for one thing. It’s an entirely new IP, for another.

Sony is quick to note in the announcement post for this upcoming State of Play that there will be no PS5 news whatsoever. I’m still not sure if we should expect Ghost of Tsushima to release on PS5 as well as PS4, though it will be backwards compatible.

One way or another, we should know a lot more about this game come Thursday afternoon.
