Does it do sweep panoramas with its ultrawide lens is the key question everyone needs to answer before buying any new phone, IMHO.
Not a word in this review, or any I have seen in many months of reading new phone reviews.
I search because its my thing to do with a phone that cameras do not do, but since 2018 and 16mm Ultrawides, no new phone appearing in the quad bayer era does them, it would seem.
And I need at least the 25MP resolution I get from my old Note 10's 108MP Samsung sensor (but it cannot do pans wuith its ultrawide either...)
This leaves us with the 12MP resolution the Nokia N8 sported in 2008 at hugely hiked prices... with $K video and adequate low-light shots as alternatives to better still photograhs and panoramas. Odd.

The only thing I have observed is somewhat longer processing time in some night photos. Other than that, I am extremely happy with it in terms of photography: Natural colours, quick focus, clear pictures with amazing details when zoomed.
It's an excellent phone overall with a top-notch screen and speakers. The only thing that is average is battery life and of course HyperOS (and related update policy) is not everyone's cup of tea.

what about the shutter lag that dxomark reports? based on that test it is similar to S24 ultra. it is very important for me to know since I have a toddler at home.

I returned my 14 ultra due to the bad battery life blurry camera zoom shots and lens fogging issue and got a vivo x100 pro and it's night and day better then the 14 ultra.
Better battery better camera better ergonomics better phone all round.

I make causal videos on my room & outside & I don't want to buy a camera thinking phone cameras produce decent videos these days, Is the xiaomi 14 ultra is good for Videos ?

I've never seen that from trusted reviewers or myself but only from random comments online. Probably that says it's more like users and their broken programs fault.

It's literally one of the most expensive devices available right now. In most countries it's more pricey than iphone, samsung lol. Xiaomi is good but not as good as you think. Iphone video is the best but picture quality it depends.... More like personal taste.
