We took an underwater photography trip to the Philippines in December 2016.
Sandperches live on sand or rubble substrates in shallow seas. Their eyes are on the top of the head and the fish lies on the seabed, propped up by its widely-separated pelvic fins. Most start adult life as females and later become males, with significantly different coloration and markings.
