Directorate General of Immigration Officially Launches Second-Home Visa

The Directorate General of Immigration (DGI), Ministry of Law and Human Rights, has officially launched the second-home visa. The visa details are stated in Circular Number IMI-0740.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning the Granting of a Second-Home Visa and Temporary Stay Permit issued on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

"Towards the implementation of the G20 Summit, today we officially launched the second-home visa. The goal is to attract foreign tourists to come to Bali and diverse other destinations," said Acting Director General of Immigration Widodo Ekatjahjana at the launch of a second-home visa in Bali on Tuesday (25/10/2022).

Widodo invites tourism industry actors to Bali since collaboration with all stakeholders is essential for a better tourism environment than before.

The subject of the second-home visa is certain foreigners or ex-Indonesian citizens who want to stay and contribute positively to the Indonesian economy. With this visa, foreigners can stay for 5 (five) or 10 (ten) years and carry out various activities, such as investment and other activities.

Foreigners can conveniently apply for a second-home visa through a website-based application (visa-online.imigrasi.go.id). The required documents are as follows:
a. Copy of passport that is valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty-six) months;
b. Proof of Funds in foreigners' or sponsors' bank account (must be placed in Indonesian state-owned banks) of at least Rp2,000,000,000 (two billion rupiahs) or equivalent;
c. Recent color photograph (4 cm x 6 cm) with a white background.
d. Curriculum Vitae.

The non-tax state revenue (PNBP) rate for a second-home visa is Rp3,000,000 according to the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 2 of 2022. Payment of PNBP for second-home visa can be made outside the territory of Indonesia through the PNBP payment portal.

Widodo emphasized that this policy would come into effect 60 (sixty) days after issuing the circular letter.

"This immigration policy is one of the non-fiscal incentives that can be a stimulus for certain foreigners to stay and contribute positively to the Indonesian economy amidst increasingly dynamic global economic conditions," he hoped.
