Meet Jett Washington, the nephew of NBA legend Kobe Bryant who had breakout 33-point game in stadium uncle made his home

Jett shared his thoughts about his standout game occurring at his uncle's old arena

HIGH school basketball player Jett Washington, the nephew of NBA icon Kobe Bryant, had an impressive performance at his late uncle's old stomping grounds.

Last weekend, Washington played at Crypto.com Arena - the residence of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Washington is the son of Bryant's sister, Sharia Washington.

He's a sophomore high school basketball player for Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.

And the 6-feet-4 athlete scored 33 points in the Coastal Catholic Classic showcase event at Bryant's old home back in his Lakers days.

Washington scored a three-pointer before the end of regulation to tie the score.

The game went into overtime, but his team would lose 82-81 to San Francisco Riordan.

Washington's 33-point count matched the same number as Bryant's Lower Merion High School jersey.

After the game, Jett opened up on what it felt like to have a breakout game at his uncle's NBA arena.

"It means a lot playing in the house he built and playing where he played," he said.

Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna as well as six other passengers and the pilot died in a helicopter crash in January 2020 in Calabasas, California.

They were heading to a basketball game at his Mamba Sports Academy.

Kobe spent his 20-year career with the Lakers, made 18 All-Star teams, and won five championship titles.

As for Washington, he is a two-sport standout at Bishop Gorman.

The sophomore is a four-star wide receiver and played for the high school's unbeaten football team last season.

Washington has received offers from plenty of big-time college schools, including Georgia, Washington, and Nebraska.
