Time is a fickle, fleeting thing. Sometimes you're trapped in math class and the clock seems to barely move. Other times, you blink and years have passed you by. Such is the case for this milestone anniversary: brace yourselves, because the Backstreet Boys are officially 23 years old.

Twenty-three.

As in, they have been a band longer than Harry Styles has been alive.

The group's official Instagram posted a phenomenally vintage clip that features the boys introducing themselves as a band when they literally were just boys. Back then, AJ, Brian, Kevin, Howie, and Nicky C. had no idea that they would go on to become one of the biggest bands in the world. Last week also marked "I Want It That Way"'s 17th anniversary, and Nick Carter — who sadly no longer goes by Nicky — and his wife welcomed a son into their family yesterday, April 19.

Most impressively of all, the group is still touring — and they just teamed up with other former boy banders for the ultimate zombie western movie. Working together for 23 years is a long time, and no small feat. Do you feel old yet? We definitely do.
