What is disc mill?

Construction:
 Feed hopper
 Grinding discs
 Discharge vessel

Types of Disc mill:
 Single – Wheeled disc mill:
One disc spins along a base to grind items.
 Double – Wheeled disc mill:
It crushes items by grinding them between two
interconnected plates.
 Vibrating disc mill:
They use high-speed vibration to separate items
after they have been crushed or ground.

Applications:
It is used in:
agricultural applications, where they are used for
milling corn and grains after harvest.
 food and chemical processing, and to crush stones
and metal products.
 mining operations to separate minerals and other
valuable elements from the surrounding rock.
 recycling plants for grinding paper, plastics and other
reusable materials.

Conclusion:
 Disc mill is used when high level of strength is
required for hard materials like stone etc.
 They also have a relatively large capacity.
 The disc mill is also relatively quiet.
