Blue Velvet Damsel
Paraglyphidodon oxyodon
Neoglyphidodon oxyodon (Bleeker, 1858), Bluestreak damselfish. Very hardy fish with a great personality. Best kept with other damsels or by itself. This fish loses it’s attractive blue stripe coloration as an adult. These fish are aggressive and territorial and can harass fish many times it’s size. It is not suitable for a peaceful community tank.
Maximum Size: the Paraglyphidodon oxyodon grows up to 6 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Blue Velvet Damsel prefers a tank of at least 30 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Paraglyphidodon oxyodon is a omnivore and likes to eat variety of foods (meats & veggies).
Level of Care: The Blue Velvet Damsel is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Blue Velvet Damsel may act aggressively toward other fish.
