OMG! Look at these hybrids and rare fishes!

it's the same as zoas.

when people coin fancy names for fish, it applies to corals too.

that's why most suppliers rather use the "golden rhomboidalis wrasse" as compared to rhomboid wrasse.

or hawaiian jordani flame wrasse, compared to flame wrasse.

bombastic sounding names always draw more attention!

according to literature,

mystery wrasse will lose the white bars when they reach adult and are usually purple color.

but i see so many vanuatu mystery wrasse in adult size that keep the white bars and remain red.

so i dunno.

mystery! (pun intended)

And just to confirm, there are no true type species of shepardi angels in the Philippines. Quoted by John copps. All those there are hybrids.

Multicolored have however, been confirm to be found in Philippines and har made that jump from Palau.

LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS LITUS......... LITUS everywhere.

There are so many of them!

Like WI restricted to a small island but is locally abundant.

they're also so unafraid of humans!

they just eat from your hands and follow you everywhere. put food in a bag and they'll all swim inside. and you can sell them for 1k each no problem!

so far there's not been any videos of the elusive hotumatua angel in the wild and i've searched all the easter island scuba videos to no avail.

centropyges are too secretive and prefer the cover of the rocks to be featured in such general diving videos.

the fearless litus on the other hand...... perfect candidate to steal limelight.

it's actually not bad looking. the white outline is quite stark.

the waters in easter island is very cold at 22-24C!

here is another amazing video to show you the abundance of litus butterfly in easter island.

a diver swims down to open a coconut and suddenly a group of them appear out of nowhere and begin eating the coconut!

coconut also can eat!
