Deep coastal to outer reef habitats. First found in about 100 m, specimens have since been found much shallower and ranging as far north as Japan.

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!

Husbandry know-how of owners

Habe dieses Juwel seit fast einem Jahr bei mir im Becken. Frisst problemlos alles was es gibt, aber am liebsten etwas "gröberes" Futter. Sehr interessiert an allem im Becken, friedlich und sehr schön. Temperatur mäßig liegt mein Becken bei 25-26C. Da macht er keine Probleme.
Für mich ein einfacher Fische, sehr zu empfehlen.
