Ianthella basta (Pallas, 1766)

Ianthella basta also known as elephant ear sponge,paper sponge or scroll sponge is a fan-shaped sponge.This sponge is found in the Indo-Pacific including Indonesia and the Great Barrier Reef. Sponges are filter feeders.

Often the sea cucumber Synaptula lamperti is associated with the elephant ear sponge.
