Endemic ot the Red Sea, Lenght 13 cm. Its rare in european Reef Tanks... Males are readily identified by the bandend pattern and their mostly white caudal fin, but females ar more plain, shading from orange above th pink below, and have red tips on the caudal fin.

Synonyme: Anthias taeniatus Klunzinger, 1884
