Info

The damselfish Plectroglyphidodon randalli was first described by Dr. Gerry Allen in 1991, the species was named in honor of Dr. John Randall.
Since no other occurrences have been known since the initial description, the perch is considered a non-migratory, site-faithful species.

The perch is previously known only from Mauritius and La Reunion, where it inhabits rocky reefs near the coast that are exposed to wave action.

Dr. Allen confirmed that the night photo by Jean-Marie Gradot is Plectroglyphidodon randalli
