Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Gobiodon quinquestrigatus are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Gobiodon quinquestrigatus, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Gobiodon quinquestrigatus, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
