SCIENTIFIC NAME –Forcipiger flavissimus

COMMON NAME – Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish

SIZE – 8.7" (22 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 75 US Gal. (284 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING – The Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish consumes meaty foods, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, and frozen preparations. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY – With caution if well fed. Most specimens will ignore corals, however, some individuals will feed on stony and soft coral polyps, tubeworms, and nip at sea urchin feet.

CAPTIVE CARE – The Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish acclimates and feeds well in home aquaria. This species should be kept in a peaceful community tank during acclimation, but once fully settled in it can be housed with moderately aggressive tank mates that are introduced after this specimen. Only one Yellow Longnose should be kept per tank.
