I cant agree more with @saltyhog with ^ I don’t really have a set favorite per se, as I love them all too much, but if I could only have just 1, it would be a Hawaiian Flame, such a stunner

Fairy wrasses are all really beautiful, but the one I'm putting in my 65 gallon is the Red-Headed Solon (Cirrhilabrus solorensis). I just wish they were less aggressive with other Cirrhilabrus, because then I'd add a Lubbock's as well.

If I could ever own one then I would be grabbing hold of a Cirrhilabrus apterygia - The Mutant Fairy Wrasse. Something about them appeals to me more than a similar looking wrasse (Cirrhilabrus earlei) does.
This is the photo from a Reef Builders article when this wrasse was first redescribed to the Cirrhilabrus genus.

C. Jordani is one of my all time favorite fish. Really wish I was able to own one before the Hawaii ban happened. So a C. Bathyphilus is going to have to be the next best thing for me.

I also currently own a cirrhilabrus rubipinnis (Red fin fairy wrasse). Which is a really cool fish and much prettier in person than the pictures you see on the web.

I finally found the photo that does the Cebu variant of Cirrhilabrus lubbocki justice. Although, I am almost certain what I have in looks of my wrasses is what some would sell as “Super Male” because of their colours being perfect.

And a little bonus of my Indonesian Cirrhilabrus lubbocki in full display (Unfortunately it was under heavy blues but it gives an idea of this guy during his display).

Ok. So. I've had a great many Fairy wrasses over the years and Cirrhilabrus is amongst my favorite genera. I definitely have some favorites amongst those I've had and have a list that includes some I haven't.

In terms of what I've had:

1. Cirrhilabrus lineatus - If we're being totally honest, this is my favorite fish that can be regularly acquired (and ranks even very highly when including those you can't). Personality is generally excellent although can be somewhat shy and bullied when mixed with more boisterous species of fairy wrasse. I've also found them to be a somewhat delicate species when compared to similar fairies.

2. Cirrhilabrus jordani - (no pic of my old one) Another species that is stunning in color and with a great personality. They are hard to source (although this will hopefully be changing with the reopening of Hawaii) but tend to be very hardy and peaceful even with other fairies.

3. Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis - (no pic of my old one and new one is still in QT) Can be very shy and delicate. Easily bullied, but excellent personality and the blue on gold patterning is incredibly striking. Shouldn't be kept with any boisterous wrasses or you will not see this one much.

4. Cirrhilabrus exquisitus - This species can vary dramatically in coloration depending on the location of collection. I've had African, Indonesia, and Maldives varieties. All have been very hardy and not as timid as some others I have listed here. They are generally very affordable and in terms of coloration, the pastel fading of a vibrant Maldives Exquisite is hard to beat.

5. Got 2 that go here because I have difficulty ranking them above or below each other but are similar in personality so it's strictly an appearance thing here.
A) Cirrhilabrus rubrimarginatus - In my opinion this species is one of the most slept on not just in the pylei complex, but amongst fairies in general. Can be extraordinarily boisterous and aggressive, but in a tank without any remotely similar fairies, they are a stunning and very robust specimen. I've found them to be EXTREMELY aggressive to other Fairy wrasses, though.

B) Cirrhilabrus isosceles - It is hard to believe this species was at one point quite hard to get as it seems these days it is one of the most commonly available fairies available. It's no slouch in the looks department either. The more recent specimens I've been seeing in particular have been stunning. They are hardy, affordable, and bright but one notch they have against them is that they also can be on the aggressive side. (Although this aggressive nature isn't guaranteed. I have one in my 180 currently with 4 other fairies and I'm not tallying the total wrasse count right now where he is certainly the boss wrasse, but not bullying anyone to a point of stress)

These are all my experience, so as I always.like to say, YMMV.
