White Spotted Devil Damselfish

(Paraglyphidodon lacrymatus)

Praglyphidodon Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for resting and establishing their territory. Paraglyphidodon Damselfish are very aggressive careful planning and consideration should be taken before adding fish to aquariums. They should be housed singly and only be housed with larger, intrusive and more aggressive tank mates. Paraglyphidodon are aggressive feeders a diet of meaty and algae based foods which includes Spirulina should be provided several times daily. Paraglyphidodon Damselfish are considered easy but does need stable water quality as they are vulnerable to Ich. As the fish matures they may begin loosing their vibrant coloration.

The White Spotted Devil Damselfish are also known as the Jewel Damselfish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. The White Spotted Devil Damselfish have a dark body with beautifully blue speckles scattered on its body. They also have a pale white to yellow tail that will darken an become dusky as they mature. They can grow to a little over 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
