Father of Super Junior member Eunhyuk passes away

Eunhyuk won't be joining Super Junior's Manila concert tonight.

Label SJ announced on Saturday, August 6, 2022, that Eunhyuk (right) won't be joining Super Junior's Manila concert due to his father's (left) untimely passing.

Lee Kang Heon, father of Super Junior member Lee Hyuk Jae aka Eunhyuk, passed away.

The unfortunate news was announced by Label SJ through the group's official Twitter account on August 6, 2022. Label SJ is the exclusive agency established by South Korean record label SM Entertainment for Super Junior.

In the wake of his father's untimely demise, Eunhyuk will also not be joining their Manila concert happening later this evening at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Here's the full statement: "Dear All, this is Label SJ. It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of EUNHYUK's father.

"As decided upon by the family, the funeral will be held privately with relatives and close acquaintances only.

"Due to the sudden news, EUNHYUK was unable to depart for the [SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR - SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in MANILA] concert scheduled for today.

"We are internally discussing matters on the concert and will provide additional guidance as soon as possible.

"We apologize for the sudden notice, and appreciate your understanding during this time.

"For the safety of all, we politely decline any visits and flowers, and ask for your kind consideration to allow EUNHYUK plenty of privacy and time to mourn.

"May he rest in peace."

Prior to this announcement, Eunhyuk's fellow Super Junior member Siwon is also not able to join their Manila concert after testing positive for COVID-19 last August 3, 2022.

Other members of the South Korean idol group including Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun have already arrived in Manila on Friday night, August 5, 2022.

Meanwhile, Heechul also decided to stay in South Korea according to the fans of the group. Sungmin and Kangin, who both have been on hiatus, will not be joining their Manila concert.

Super Junior is known for the chart-topping K-pop hits including "Mr. Simple," "Sorry Sorry," "Bonamana," and "Mamacita," among many others.

The K-Pop idol group has been to the Philippines several times. The group has already staged five “Super Show” world tours in the country since 2010.
