Whitetail dascyllus

Biology

The whitetail dascyllus forms large groups near branched corals of the genus Acropora, in sheltered and shallow bays. During breeding season, the male dances above its nest to attract females to lay their eggs. When they are fertilized, it is the male parent who takes care of them, protecting them quite aggressively. In three to five days the eggs hatch.
