Where Are The 'Glee' Cast Now?

Gleeks rejoice! Glee has been resurrected and is officially streaming on Disney+ after leaving Netflix in December 2021.

Once again, fans of the show can sing along to the Glee club's cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and Queen's "Somebody to Love," as well as embracing all of the cringiest moments and witness some of their favorite stars in iconic cameo roles.

It's been seven years since Glee aired its final ever episode but the show still has a big place in many Gleek's hearts. So, where are the Glee cast now? Newsweek has everything you need to know.

Where Are The Glee Cast Now?

Lea Michele

Lea Michele starred as Rachel Berry in Glee from the show's beginning in 2009 until its end in 2015.

Rachel was the Glee club's star, who went on to become a Tony award-winning actress.

Since leaving Glee, Michele has gone to star in Scream Queens as Hester Ulrich and Valentina Barella on ABC's The Mayor.

She has also been working on her music career and in November 2021 released her cover album Forever: A Lullaby Album.

Michele has also published two books, Brunette Ambition and You First: Journal Your Way to Your Best Life.

She married Zandy Reich in March 2019 and welcomed their son Ever in August 2020.

Dianna Agron

Dianna Agron played the role of Quinn Fabray, the most popular student at McKinley High.

Since Glee ended in 2015, Agron has not returned to television but has starred in multiple movies including The Laureate, As They Made Us, Novitiate and Hollow in the Land.

Heather Morris

Heather Morris starred as the stereotypical high school trope of dumb blonde cheerleader, Brittany Pierce.

Since Glee, Morris has competed on Dancing With the Stars and has appeared in Psycho Wedding Crasher, LA LA Living and Fake Santa.

Amber Riley

Amber Riley took on the role of Mercedes Jones in Glee.

After Glee ended, Riley headed straight to London's West End after landing the role of Effie White in Dreamgirls, winning a prestigious Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

She then won Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars and released an album Songs from the Stage with musical icons Beverley Knight and Cassidy Janson.

She recently starred in Lifetime's thriller, Single Black Female as Simone.

Chris Colfer

Chris Colfer starred as Kurt in Glee, the first openly gay character in the series.

Colfer won critical acclaim for the role and received several awards, including Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries, or Television Film at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards and three consecutive People's Choice Awards for Favorite Comedic TV Actor.

Since Glee came to an end, Colfer has pursued a career in writing, publishing 18 books so far for children and young adults. His young adult series, The Land of Stories made The New York Times bestseller list.

Kevin McHale

Kevin McHale played the role of Artie Abrams, a talented student who used a wheelchair.

Since Glee, McHale has been on The X Factor: Celebrity—finishing in seventh place—as well as appearing on When We Rise and Elite.

He also hosts Dash Radio's Sick of My Own Voice.

Jenna Ushkowitz

Jenna Ushkowitz starred as Tina in Glee and swapped television for Broadway after the show ended.

She has starred in the musicals Waitress and The King and I. She went on to win Tony Awards for producing Once on This Island in 2018 and The Inheritance in 2020.

Harry Shum Jr.

Harry Shum Jr. starred as dancer and singer Mike Chang in Glee.

After Glee, he landed the role of warlock Magnus Bane in Shadowhunters, which aired until 2019.

He has since gone on to star in the movies Love Hard and Crazy Rich Asians.

Shum Jr. has also starred in Awkwafina's Nora From Queens and Tell Me A Story.

Matthew Morrison

Matthew Morrison played the role of Mr. Will Schuester, the leader of McKinley High's Glee Club.

Since Glee, Morrison has starred in numerous shows including American Horror Story and The Good Wife.

He also served as a judge on the British talent series The Greatest Dancer and on the 2022 series of So You Think You Can Dance.

Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch starred as the hilariously evil Sue Sylvester, the most anti-Glee club member of the school.

Lynch has continued to star in some of the biggest shows on TV since Glee ended including The Good Fight, Space Force, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and The Bystanders.

Darren Criss

Darren Criss joined the cast of Glee as Blaine Anderson in 2010. Blaine was the lead vocalist of the Dalton Academy Warblers.

After leaving Glee, he shot to international and critical acclaim when he portrayed serial killer Andrew Cunanan in the second season of American Crime Story. For his performance, he won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award.

He also starred as Raymond Ainsley in Hollywood on Netflix.

Chord Overstreet

Chord Overstreet appeared in Glee as Sam Evans from Season 2 onwards.

Since Glee ended in 2015, he has released several singles and EPs as well as continuing his acting career.

He starred as Evan Sloan in The Bold Type and played Chad in Apple TV's Acapulco.

Jonathan Groff

Jonathan Groff joined the cast of Glee in 2010 as Jesse St. James, the lead vocalist of the rival Glee club, Vocal Adrenaline.

After Glee, Groff went on to play FBI Special Agent Holden Ford in the critically acclaimed Netflix period crime drama Mindhunter.

He also starred in Broadway's Hamilton as King George III and is the voice of Kristoff and Sven in Disney's Frozen series.

Groff recently starred as Smith in The Matrix Resurrections.

Fans of Glee will know that tragedy struck the show between 2013 and 2020. Three cast members—Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, and Naya Rivera—died in separate incidents.

On July 13, 2013 Monteith died from an alcohol and heroin overdose. He was 31-years-old.

In December 2017, Salling pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to time in jail which was scheduled to begin in March 2018. However, he took his own life in January 2018. He was 35.

Rivera was reported missing on July 8, 2020 after her 4-year-old son, Josey, was found alone on a boat they had rented on Lake Piru. Her body was found days later. The cause of death was ruled as accidental drowning. She was just 33 years old when she died.
