Unity in Diversity: We Embrace It, Celebrate It

Unity in Diversity: We Embrace It, Celebrate It

In the age of technology and globalization, diversity is not just a word for companies, it is the key to success and achievements. According to a poll, 87% of tech employees mentioned that diversity positively impacts employee performance that resulted in better productivity, more capitation, and higher profit. The companies that believe in more diverse management earned a 19% higher return due to innovation (study by BCG). An organization can reach out to a wise solution if a mix of diverse voices engages in discussion and decision. For us, diversity is a “must-have” more than “nice to have” because it employs our employees and confers higher advocacy for our organization.

My organization Inovar consulting has designed an inclusive work environment where employees can feel welcomed and accepted- able to share insights, stand for their own opinion, and add more worth to the business. We follow the cited actions below, in our work culture as we believe everyone’s involvement is mandatory to make our diversity goals a reality.

  • Hire people from a broader geographic area, cultural background, and assist them in a lead role
  • Foster company culture where every voice can communicate including age, gender, race, religion, sexuality, and others
  • Support professional development opportunities by offering employee education and training
  • Flexible work hours, employee empowerment, prioritize employee benefits that resulted in a low turnover rate
  • Reflect everyone’s needs and preferences at social gatherings and promote personal understanding
  • Follow Inclusive strategies like take off in religious holidays, equal pay and benefits for resources, language preferences for inter-group communication, and others

The strategy of diversity and inclusive working culture positively engage us with our colleagues and management. It assists us to learn to think out of the box and bring creative ideas back to teammates. This exposure has benefited our team with a wide range of skills through group discussion, problem sharing, and new idea generation.

When employees appreciate each other and get along in the workplace, organizations experience an astounding improvement in their productivity as well as employee morale boost up. At Inovar, diversity brings unique talents under a single roof, and we all utilize our sets of skills to meet productivity targets. If a company encourages individuals from a broad group, it usually achieves the reputation of being a good employer. From the beginning, we are much aware and have been encouraging the diversity that inspires employees to perform to their highest ability.

Our diverse and inclusive team has become invaluable when an unexpected crisis of COVID-19 hits the world. We have tactfully handled the situation using effective communication, cooperation, and the necessary problem-solving method. It is only possible that have been empowered by the powerful diverse team, and now we are planning to get back to our desk.

Yes, indeed, regional language problems, cultural differences, and bone of contention on any topic sometimes create barriers for us but, we always perform as a proactive team and try to explore opportunities from challenges. No one can be a perfect person, but we can at least resolve our backlogs being a part of a cultural work-group. This is how we promote unity, and we are excited to celebrate our future success.

“When we listen and celebrate what is both common and different, we become a wiser, more inclusive, and better organization.” rightly said Pat Wadors, Head of HR at LinkedIn (Source: LinkedIn).
