  1. LOL what a weird anatomy it has, it really took me a while to construct its face. Posted 9 years ago
  2. Hello morpheme,
I think your lobster here is Panulirus ornatus and not Panulirus versicolor
    See here:
    https://alchetron.com/Search#search=panulirus
I don't know if you have seen it in an aquarium but if it was in the sea I also doubt it was P. versicolor because this one is from tropical waters. It typically has white antennae and not the white dot on the side of the head which is more characteristic or ornatus> See here pics of versicolor:

Are you Ok with replacing the species by the right one?

    1. It was in an aquarium - I believe I got the ID from the tank, but it's quite possible that only the common name was displayed - and it would appear there are several species that share that common name. Posted 5 years ago
      1. I will switch it to P. ornatus. Let me know if Ok for you. Posted 5 years ago
        1. Hello morpheme, in the end I changed to P. argus because it looks a lot more like it. P. ornatus has white segments in the legs and the one in your pic has not. Do you happen to have more pics showing the animal's tail? and/or the aquarium name? (maybe they say in their web site which species they have in?). That is if you are interested in verifying the sp. Otherwise I think we can leave it as P. argus. Is up to you. Posted 5 years ago
