Superstar Rajinikanth threatened by Haji Mastan’s foster son for making a film on late underworld don

Superstar Rajinikanth threatened by Haji Mastan’s foster son for making a film on late underworld don

Mumbai, May 12: Sunder Shekhar who claims to be an adopted son of Haji Mastan had written a threatening letter to superstar Rajinikanth for making a feature film on the late underworld don. Sunder Shekhar who also runs a local party – Bharatiya Minorities Suraksha Mahasangh – from Nagpada, Mumbai had also released a video in which he had threatened the Chennai-based Superstar Rajinikanth saying that if Haji Mastan’s image is tarnished in the movie then he has to deal with the consequences.

“Mr Rajinikanth, it is good that you have decided to make a film on Haji Mastan. But remember if Haji Mastan’s image is projected as a villain in your upcoming movie, then you (Rajinikanth) and your team have to pay the price. Our party workers will not leave you, they will create some trouble for you” Sunder Shekhar said in a video. The foster son of Haji Mastan further dictated Rajinikanth to make a good movie on his foster father and said that he will co-operate with him and is ready to give real story of the late underworld don.

Sunder Shekhar also wrote a letter in which he had threatened to take legal action against Rajinikanth. “Haji Mastan’s image has been made of underworld don and smuggler which is wrong. He was never found guilty in any of the case. If you portray him in a bad light then be prepared to face the consequences,” Shekhar wrote in a letter.

Sunder further claimed that when Haji Mastan was alive, he was the person most close to him. “I further state that both of us are hailing from Tamil Nadu and I am staying with him since from my childhood. He raised me as his own son and never forced me to change my religion,” Sunder wrote in a letter.

The letter and the video are also monitored by Mumbai police officials but the cops have not issued any statement. Earlier there were several movies made on depicting the life of Haji Mastan. Some reports suggest that Amitabh Bachchan starer Deewar was based on the life of Haji Mastan and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai was also based on the late underworld don.

Rajinikanth to play underworld don Haji Mastan in his upcoming flim

Last month there were reports that superstar Rajinikanth had decided to play a gangster again in his upcoming film with director Pa Ranjith. Some reports suggest that the movie will be set in the backdrop on Mumbai and will be based on the life Haji Mastan.

Mastan Haider Mirza was popularly known as Haji Mastan, Sultan Mirza and Bawa, was a Tamil Muslim who migrated to Mumbai at the age of eight along with his father.

Haji Mastan, a don based in Dongri area of Mumbai spoke Tamil fluently and was an associate of gangster Karim Lala and Varadarajan Mudaliar who were involved into smuggling and real estate business. Haji Mastan had a close contact with Bollywood film industry and also finance several films. A dreaded criminal in the eyes of law, Haji Mastan enjoyed celebrity status among poor in Mumbai.

For almost 20 years, Haji Mastan dominated the underworld scene of the city. Haji Mastan had also known as the mentor of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
