Markus Streckeisen has held various positions at SBB, SBB Real Estate and SBB Cargo over the past 30 years. At SBB Real Estate, for example, he was project manager for site and property developments and centre manager at the Basel and Zurich main railway stations. As Head of Property Management, he was responsible for SBB Real Estate's usage and leasing management throughout Switzerland, station management and the management, development and profitability of all SBB properties for seven years.

Since the beginning of 2018, Streckeisen has been Chief Transformation Officer and, since mid-2019, Head of Sales at SBB Cargo. As a member of the Management Board, his responsibilities there included overseeing the restructuring and further development programme, as well as further developing the strategic business fields of City Logistics and Construction and Waste Management, and the "Gateway Basel Nord" project.

As part of his personal life planning, Streckeisen now intends to leave SBB Cargo at the end of April 2021 to work as an independent member of the Board of Directors and advise companies in the real estate, mobility and retail/logistics sectors. He has held and continues to hold various board mandates and has been a board member of SCSC, the Swiss Council of Shopping Places, since 2011. (ah)
