Last summer, then-fledgling couple Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian traveled to the Italian city of Venice, where they sipped Aperol spritzes, ate gelato cones, and kissed each other while wearing various sexy-goth outfits and all-black loungewear. One afternoon, they wore matching black hoodies studded with metal spikes.

This past weekend, the pair ventured to the opposite coast of Italy, where they were married in a formal wedding ceremony in Portofino, once again wearing sexy-goth outfits. Indeed, for the duration of the wedding weekend, the entire extended Kardashian-Barker family and many other attendees joined them in wearing sexy-goth outfits, almost entirely outfitted in head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana. (The designers “hosted” the wedding, which took place on the designers’ Villa Olivetta property.) Everything comes full circle.

While the crew scooted around Portofino on luxury powerboats, Travis wore a monastic black tunic, while Kourtney sported a boudoir mini dress, her face shaded by a short black veil that read more mourning than bridal. (Also in attendance were their friends and fellow pop-punk-adjacent couple, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, the latter of whom wore a pair of old-school Vans while strolling around town.) During their Catholic ceremony—all told, a pretty goth religion—Kourney wore a custom wedding veil embroidered with a depiction of the Virgin Mary nearly identical to the one that is tattooed onto the top of Barker’s skull, just above the words “family loyalty respect.”

That initial Venice trip last summer fanned the buzzy-at-the-time perception that Kourney had been dressing differently since she began dating the drummer from Blink-182—a point that Barker refuted to me earlier this month during the couple’s fitting of their coordinated Thom Browne looks for the Met Gala. (Funnily enough, the couple had just flown in for the fitting an hour before from a different trip to Italy.)

“Everyone says she dresses different because she’s with me,” Barker said then. “I’ve seen that, but it’s not really real. Because I remember I used to pick her up at home when we were friends, and we’d do stuff and she’d be in all black, or, I don’t know, something cute… We actually have a lot of the same style, we love a lot of the same things.”

If loving a lot of the same things continues to include the merging of “wearing all black” and “costume-y Italian excess,” may we all live happily ever after. Cheers to the happy couple!
