Just last month Emma Watson was very much in the present day, hairwise, when the actor debuted the of-the-moment long bob cut on the red carpet. Now, however, she's showing off a whole new look that seems to be ’90s-inspired—specifically, from a little series called Friends.

Emma Watson rarely posts anything on social media, but when she does, her hairstyles have for the most part been an accurately cut bob or long bob, sometimes styled in a half-up baby bun.

But for the men's final of the Wimbledon tennis tournament, the actor showed up in the audience—and on her Instagram Stories—with a new hairstyle. And it looks striking on her.

The exciting thing about the haircut? The layering that starts at eye level and ends at her shoulder. As you may remember from the the Rachel cut, made famous by Jennifer Aniston on Friends, this blow-dried hairstyle and length creates a lot of volume.

The Rachel was copied by millions of women all over the world—in part because the layered cut is so wonderfully versatile and can be adapted for any face shape. It also gives fine hair lots of volume. It's no wonder that it continues to be brought back again and again.

Of course, Emma Watson has a more modern take on the hairstyle—it's a little less voluminous than the Rachel, without sacrificing any of that oomph. To achieve the look, you'll need to twist the hair in a round brush as you blow-dry. This not only beautifully flatters the face but also adds volume.

Add a little hairspray on top of that, and the look can last a whole day of watching tennis in the summer sun. Game, set, match!
