MLB great Derek Jeter played baseball from a very young age. He got motivated to play the game by his father, who also played ball in his college days. With encouragement from his father, the iconic former shortstop started to love the game. Over the years, Jeter has said multiple times that how much he loved the competition and camaraderie that came with baseball, which he always enjoyed. As the Hall of Famer played baseball after getting inspired by his father, it became a family tradition. 

And now, carrying on that family tradition is Jeter’s nephew Jalen Jeter. A young man, who as a toddler became famous after his uncle’s last game in the ballpark, recently showed that he belongs on the baseball diamond. In a recent video, the ten-year-old is already showing signs of following in the footsteps of his uncle, Derek Jeter.

Recently, the Hall of Famer’s nephew went for hitting practice, where his mother, Sharlee Jeter, was also present. She captured the video of her son powerfully hitting the balls. In the video, he did not miss one shot as he looked at his mother with a hint of a smile on his face. 

Considering the history of baseball in the family, if the young Jalen Jeter tries his hand at professional baseball, it would not come as a shock. But it would definitely be amusing watching the younger Jeter following in his uncle’s footsteps.
