It was only six years ago that Glee premiered and the world watched the McKinley High School Glee Club sing "Don’t Stop Believing." There were six seasons of show tunes, slushies in the face, long monologues about ~following your dreams~ and, oh yeah, a shit-ton of reported behind-the-scenes drama. From the show’s inception, rumors spread about cast members fighting with each another on and off the set. Naya Rivera, who played Glee’s resident mean girl Santana Lopez, recently spilled some tea in her new book Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up. In honor of learning even more about the intense experience that was Glee, here’s a breakdown of all the drama that occurred since the show first aired.

August 2010: Co-star couple Naya Rivera and Mark Salling kick things off: Naya is accused of egging and keying Mark's car after finding out he went on a number of dates with other women, according to Us Weekly. Mark responds to the rumors with a tweet, saying the two are "the best of friends."

Naya discusses their tumultuous relationship in her new book, BTW, clarifying that she didn’t actually key his car — instead she covered it in dog food, eggs, and birdseed.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

February 2011: E! News reports that hardly anyone in the Glee cast clapped for Lea Michele when she presented at the Grammys. "There were a few eye rolls from cast members, who shall remain nameless, but Grammy goers around them all took notice of the icy Lea reception," the E! reporter claims.

May 2012: MTV reports that guest star Lindsay Lohan arrived late to set because she was partying prior to the shoot. Lea responds to the rumors by telling MTV, “I mean, you never really know what’s true and what’s not. From what we know, she did her stuff and we were busy shooting ours.”

August 2012: Kate Hudson absolutely slays her guest role as the snarky dance professor who consistently makes fun of Lea’s character, Rachel. Her performance of “All That Jazz”???!

But Us Weekly reports that while Hudson was on set, she had major problems with Lea, calling her a "total diva." The two pretty much put those rumors to rest in 2013 when Kate let Lea stay in her home after the death of Cory Monteith in July 2013.

September 2012: Dianna Agron reportedly negotiates an early exit from the show. A source tells Us Weekly: "Dianna was unhappy and had been trying to get off the show for a while. She and producers came to an agreement where they let her go. That's what she wanted." A show rep tells Us, "This is patently false."

August 2013: The tribute episode following Cory's death comes with its own rumors: Dianna is reportedly excluded from the script. She is the only main character to not appear in the tribute. While she doesn't quite explain her absence from the episode, she does tell The Irish Independent, "I've nothing but love for that show and everybody involved in it. It was such a huge part of my life, so I think it's equally hard when I'm not there every day anymore."

April 2014: Rumors spread that Naya has been fired from the show after complaining to producers about Lea's "diva antics," TMZ reportsE! News reports that she is going to be written out of the fifth-season finale. Naya's representatives tell Hollywood Reporter that Naya has NOT been fired: "Any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from Glee are absolutely untrue. End of story."

May 2014: Chris Colfer refuses to comment on reports of Glee drama, telling People that some of his cast-mates have unfairly had "horrible things" written about them. "I don't want to say life is too short for drama, but I think I'm just too old for drama. I'd rather go home and be with my cat and my dog than start a war with someone."

May 2014: Lea finally addresses the long-rumored tension between her and Naya — sort of. On the Late Show with David Letterman, Letterman asked Lea if she and Naya once got in a fight. Lea responded by saying, “It’s really unbelievable, the amount of things that can be just completely made up. People like to pit women against each other, and it’s really annoying and really sad.”

July 2014: Chris Colfer is the victim of a major Twitter hack when someone tweets from his account that he has been FIRED from the show. Thank goodness it wasn’t real because then he would’ve never performed this amazing number:

July 2014: Becca Tobin’s nightclub-owner boyfriend Matt Bendik is found dead in a hotel room, according to TMZ. He was in Philadelphia at the time for a business trip.

July 2014: This is seriously a chaotic month for the Glee cast. After a lot of rumors about Naya’s future on the show, it was reported that she would appear in the sixth season but in a “reduced capacity.” Naya also reportedly asked to be downgraded from a series regular to a “recurring guest star.”

October 2015: In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Ryan Murphy opens up about all the Glee drama, saying, "To this day, I'm devastated by everything that happened with that show."

December 2015: Glee star Mark Salling is arrested for possession of child pornography, according to TMZ. Authorities reportedly discover hundreds of images on Mark’s computer. He is then indicted on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography in May 2016.

September 2016: Naya finally addresses her feud with Lea in her book, saying that while she doesn’t hate Lea — and never has — she does feel like Lea had trouble sharing the spotlight and would blame Naya for anything that went wrong. While Naya says the rumors surrounding the two are blown out of proportion, she also says that Lea did not talk to her for all of Season 6.

Sept. 2016: In her book, Naya reveals that Michele once threatened to call SAG because of "unsafe working conditions" on set. Naya says she agreed with Lea in this instance since the A/C had broken and the cast was asked to dance anyway.

Rivera also wrote about one particular incident where a certain unnamed cast member threw a fit and locked herself in her trailer. Seems like the jury is out on what REALLY happened with everyone on set, but suffice it to say, it was not all smooth sailing.
