It's listed on CL in the free section....I'm not sure I really want to take on any tropicals. If chopped to say 8" or so would it bud back....? if so what time of the year would be best to do this as well as root work and a re-pot.

If it's healthy (which it seems to be), it will probably backbud when chopped. The best time for root work is when it will be warm outside for a few weeks afterwards. I would wait until Spring - when you're confident that there won't be another cold snap.

Upper fork area may be a good candidate for cutting or airlayer come spring.

Remember that this is a benjamina, and a chop so low with no foliage would be risky since these don't backbud reliably.
