Arsenal may have already spent over £200m this summer, but remain ready to bolster their ranks before the end of the transfer window and are keeping tabs on 21-year-old starlet Martin Baturina, who currently plies his trade for Dinamo Zagreb.
The Gunners have added Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber to their squad after coming a disappointing second last season, but Mikel Arteta has not shut the door on further additions.
“Let’s see. There’s a lot of time still in the market and a lot of expectations in some of our players as well,” Arteta said.
“We’ll have to see how things develop in the next couple of weeks. We’ll be alert. There’s still time to do things and there’s still time for exits obviously. I’m sure things will move.”
One of those that they are keeping tabs on is Baturina, who featured for Croatia’s U21 side in the European Championships this summer and has managed 68 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb since making his breakthrough.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder signed a new contract at the Croatian side in April, but it is thought that Arsenal are keen on the youngster after spotting him while scouting teammate Josip Sutalo last season.
The Gunners are currently focused on sales with midfielders Sambi Lokonga, Thomas Partey and Charlie Patino all potentially on the chopping block, alongside squad players Cedric Soares, Nicolas Pepe and Rob Holding.
However, they are thought to still be keen on another forward, and valued at just 15m euros as things stand, Baturina could well be a low-cost option for the north London side as they continue to try to add to their youthful squad.
