Indonesia Museum

Inaugurated on the fifth anniversary of the establishment of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in 1980, the Museum Indonesia stands as a testament to the visionary idea of Mrs. Tien Soeharto. This museum came to life with the collective support and collaboration of various entities – government, the private sector, and the community at large. A heartfelt call from the First Lady at that time inspired people to contribute treasured cultural artifacts from every corner of the nation, enriching the collection of the Museum Indonesia.

A Monument to Civilization's Journey

More than a grand edifice merely housing and exhibiting collections, the Indonesia Museum is a narrative sanctuary. Here unfolds the tapestry of our history, thoughts, aspirations, messages, monumental creations, triumphs, and the jubilations of bygone eras. As stewards of the future, it is our duty to safeguard and appreciate the past, drawing lessons that guide us in our present national journey and the one that lies ahead.

Where Education Takes Center Stage

The Museum Indonesia serves as a sanctum for unearthing our nation's cultural journey and accomplishments since times of old. Learning from the annals of yesteryears goes beyond admiring the glories and luxury of our heritage; it's about imbibing the lessons of both rise and fall. The museum imparts teachings that fortify our collective identity and national essence in the pursuit of a promising future. Its messages and meanings are wellsprings of inspiration, propelling visitors to face the challenges of modern technology and evolving times with resilience and fortitude.
