Chaetodon ulietensis

Chaetodon ulietensis, commonly known as the Double-saddle butterflyfish, is a small butterflyfish. Their body is white except for the last third, including the dorsal, caudal and anal fin, that is bright yellow with a black spot on the caudal fin base. On the white part they've thin greyish-black vertical stripes and two large washed out greyish-black patches (the first usually more faded than the second) and they've a black vertical eye bar.

These fish are quite peaceful to most other fish, but might haress similar looking fish. They are usually found in pairs or small groups in coral rich lagoon reefs, but juveniles live more in harbors and estuaries. In an aquarium they can best be kept alone unless a proven pair can be bought. They're real omnivores but mainly feed on all sorts of invertebrates and algae, but they're also facultative corallivores, meaning they do eat but don't need corals. This makes them not really suitable for most reef tanks though, but a perfect pick for a fish-only tank! Feed them a varied diet of live and frozen meaty foods and make sure you supplement their diet with a high quality algae based flake or pellet to make them thrive!
