Natural History: The Burgess' Butterflyfish is found in pairs on dropoffs with rich sponge and coral growth. It is more common at the greater depths of its range. There are two distinct color forms of Burgess' Butterfly. One is white and the other is creamy yellow.
Husbandry: Burgess' Butterfly is one of the most desirable butterflyfishes for aquaria. It will eat most aquarium foods and is unaggressive toward other butterflies, even its own species. It will likely pick on larger-polyped stony coral polyps. It has been safely housed with soft corals and mushroom corals. A dimly lit tank will more likely suit this species.
