Runway to Red Carpet! See Cate Blanchett's Latest High-Fashion Style Parade

See the star's most recent looks -- straight from the catwalk!

Not only does Cate Blanchett serve as a style icon to stars and non-stars alike, but designers love to dress the actress in hot-off-the runway looks. (Read: Everything looks good on her and she’s not afraid to try tricky trends.) Plus, Blanchett has an endearing sense of humor when it comes to fashion (she recently told us all about her “embarrassing underwear” drawer). We love when Blanchett is out promoting new work, because we know we’re in for a sartorial treat. These five fashion-forward looks prove just that.

For a Truth screening at the BFI London Film Festival Saturday, Blanchett selected a plunging black velvet Schiaparelli couture creation from the label’s Fall 2015 collection. She accessorized the cap-sleeve, intricately embellished design with black-and-gold pumps and an elegant updo.

Proving that no trend is too risky for her, Blanchett opted for a white tiered Proenza Schouler cutout dress with ruffle detailing and black piping for the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences reception at the Winfield House in London last Wednesday. She paired the gown (from the spring 2016 collection) with pointed-toe black pumps and her signature sleek, straight hairstyle.

Leaving her dress at home, Blanchett selected a white lace and silk Givenchy jumpsuit for a photo call for her newest film, Truth, during the BFI London Film Festival on the same day. To complete the look, the actress added an oversize menswear-inspired blazer and kept her makeup minimal, opting for a fresh-faced look worn with her loose blonde locks.

Earlier that day, Blanchett wowed in a shimmery navy-and-white Esteban Cortazar cape dress (from the designer’s spring 2016 collection) for a screening of Carol during the BFI London Film Festival. Sadly you can’t see in the photos just how the gorgeous gown moved as she walked down the red carpet.

And lastly, the actress went bold in a bright red floral Giorgio Armani number for another screening of Truth in N.Y.C. on Oct. 7. The vibrant print from the designer’s spring 2016 collection is a departure for the star, who also debuted a new (for her) hairstyle — a headful of curls — teamed with a rosy pink lip.
