Necker Island is preparing for the holiday season!

Billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson, 73, has opened up his British Virgin Islands paradise to the public for the next two months.

“This year, we’re inviting travelers from around the world to experience something very special to close out the year and celebrate 2023,” James Basson, the general manager of Necker Island, told Robb Report. “For the first time, we are offering guests the opportunity to book an individual room over selected dates during the festive season and have unique access to our beautiful private island.”

The 74-acre island had only been available to personal guests of the founder of the Virgin Group — or those who could reserve the entire island — before. But now the public has access to the individual rooms on the island.

For the next two months, vacationers can reserve an individual room rather than the entire island. However, only 24 rooms are available.

Beginning Nov. 18 through Nov. 25, and Dec. 11 through Dec. 26, individual rooms are now available for reservation. The November rates start at $5,400, while the December rates start at $5,850.

“Necker operates most of the year for buyout only with only very select weeks of the year that guests can book an individual room,” Basson told Robb Report. “These weeks typically don’t fall over the festive season, but for this year, we are excited to offer travelers the most special festive season yet.”

The stay includes several accommodations including food, alcohol, the return boat and water sports, as well as child-friendly fun, per Robb Report.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Necker Island is implementing no-travel days. In lieu of the no-travel days, the island has arranged a special Christmas itinerary, featuring a Christmas-themed night with a visit from Santa Claus, an after-party with a DJ and an event titled “Get Grinched Beach Olympics.”

Those who reserve a room on Necker Island will join the likes of celebrity guests from previous years, including Barack and Michelle Obama, Harry Styles, Jimmy Fallon, Kate Winslet, Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Mariah Carey, Kate Moss, Robert DeNiro, Nelson Mandela and Princess Diana.

Branson purchased the land in 1978 when he was just 29 years old. In 2007, he purchased an additional island, Moskito Island, and has developed 11 villas on the island for vacationers.

The billionaire businessman opened up Moskito Island to the public in 2021. The 125-acre private paradise resides 2 miles away from the billionaire’s private island amongst the British Virgin Islands.
