Unity in Diversity issues deadline reminder

2011-2012 Unity in Diversity Poster designed by Christopher Cooper.NIU’s Unity in Diversity (UID) Steering Committee continues to accept entries for the theme contest and proposals for supplemental funds.

The annual theme contest encourages participation in diversity programming as it relates to gender, sexual orientation, culture, religion, race and physical ability.

The theme contest is open to all faculty, students and staff. The winner will receive a $100 prize and be recognized at the Diversity & Equity Awards Gala in April. The theme must be 10 words or less and reflect the idea of Unity in Diversity

Themes must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 2.

UID also provides supplemental funds to university departments, programs, and Student Association-recognized organizations to support diversity-related events on campus. Currently, UID is accepting funding proposal applications for diversity programming.

Funding proposals must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7 to the Diversity & Equity Office, Campus Life Building, 230.
