1. Katy Perry was born to sing!

Katy was 9 years old when she started off her singing. She used to be a part of a gospel choir before finding her individuality, and ended up embracing her own music style.

2. Katy Perry a.k.a the Alien Believer!

Katy admitted that she is a spiritual believer and that she believes that aliens exist in an interview with GQ magazine. She said, “Imagine: how self-important are we to think that we are the only life-form?”

3. She’s not only an amazing singer but as an actress too.

Despite her having a successful singing career, she has also performed as an actress in both film and animation. She first became well-known for playing the voice of Smurfette in the live-action Smurfs. She has also appeared in episodes of The Simpsons, How I Met Your Mother, American Housewife, and the Zoolander 2 movie.

4. She’s a multiple Guinness World Records holder.

She has four Guinness Book World Records in her hands, the first one “Best Star on the US Digital Chart by a Female Artist” in the year 2010 and the second as “Best First Female with Five Number One US Singles from 1 Album” in the year 2013. The third and 4th are “Most Twitter Followers” she was the first ever artist to reach 100 million followers on Twitter and also had the biggest profit for a female pop artist in 2015, and “Most Viewed Halftime Performance” in 2016.

The majority of Katy Perry’s songs were written by her; she is a gifted songwriter. While she collaborates with other writers, her writing skills go beyond just music. She has also penned songs for numerous other well-known pop acts. Highlights include Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow,” Nicki Minaj’s “Get on Your Knees,” Kelly Clarkson’s “I Do Not Hook Up” and “Long Shot,” Britney Spears’ “Passenger,” and Selena Gomez’s “Rock God.”

6. Freddy Mercury is her inspiration.

When Katy first started out, she said Amy Grant was an inspiration and that her music was very gospel-influenced. At the age of 15, she experienced a significant turning point when she heard Queen’s “Killer Queen”; she claimed that following this, she realized what she wanted her sound to be. She has said that “Freddie Mercury was and is my major inspiration.” His sarcastic lyric approach and “I don’t give a f*ck” attitude served as a main inspiration to my music.

7. Not only Katy but her furr-ends are also pretty famous!

Katy Perry is also a huge animal lover! Katy has a strong affinity for animals. She has two dogs, Nugget and Butters, and she once owned a cat named Kitty Purry. In fact, her pets are now as well-known as their owner! The bio of “Nugget Perry,” who has a Twitter account, reads, “I’m such a bitch.” You could say that information like this makes you like Katy even more.

8. Katy clutched with a single album!

In 2011, she became the first female artist to have five number-one singles from a single album, making Hot 100 history. Katy has in fact become one of the best-selling female artists of all time thanks to Teenage Dream. Michael Jackson was the only other artist to hold this accomplishment.

9. She’s a beauty inside and out!

Perry has supported various charitable organizations and causes throughout her career. She has contributed to organizations aimed at improving the lives and welfare of children in particular. In April 2013, she joined UNICEF to assist children in Madagascar with education and nutrition. On December 3, 2013, she was officially named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, “with a special focus on engaging young people in the agency’s work to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children and adolescents.” She arranged for a portion of the money generated from tickets to her Prismatic World Tour to go to UNICEF. In September 2010, she helped build and design the Boys Hope/Girls Hope foundation shelter for youth in Baltimore, Maryland along with Raven-Symoné, Shaquille O’Neal, and the cast of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. In 2010, Perry and Nicki Minaj performed a cover of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” for service members during the 2010 VH1 Divas Salute the Troops concert.

She has also supported children’s education and well-being. All profits from sales of the album The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell, which includes her rendition of “Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two)”, were donated to the charity Little Kids Rock, which supports musical education in underprivileged elementary schools. In June 2014, she teamed up with Staples Inc. for a project entitled “Make Roar Happen” which donated $1 million to DonorsChoose, an organization that supports teachers and funds classroom resources in public schools.

10. Katy is part of LGBTQ+.

Perry has publicly advocated for LGBT rights and admitted that she wrote “I Kissed a Girl” about her own bisexual experiences with other women. In 2017, she received a Nation Equality Award from Human Rights Campaign for “using her powerful voice and international platform to speak out for LGBTQ equality”. In her acceptance speech, she discussed having bisexual experiences, her fluid sexuality, and thanked the LGBTQ+ community.
