The Twospine Angelfish or commonly known Coral Beauty is a semi-aggressive fish that generally live on their own or in small harems. They are typically found in depths between 5 m to 45m (16 ft to 147 ft).
Twospine Angelfish like all pygmy angelfishes are hermaphrodites, meaning they may change sex from female to male during their life cycle.
These fish are omnivores but primarily feed on algae.
Estimates of lifespan is around 10 years.
Unlike larger species of angelfish, the colours of this angelfish does not fade with age
The main predators of angelfish include sharks, larger predatory fish and marine mammals.

The Twospined Angelfish also known as the Coral Beauty Angelfish is a popular reef species admired for its bright colours including bluish/purple on its head and dorsal area, and orange/yellowish body with blue lines and dots. They are very hardy fish and popular with the aquarium trade – it is one of the highest purchased dwarf angelfish.

The fish has a large range throughout the Indian and Western Pacific Oceans, covering parts of East Africa, Philippines, Tuamoto Islands, parts of Southern Japan and down to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
