Founder of the band is Drie Warnanta and Ricky FM. Formerly they both had formed the band in the early 1990s and was featured in several cafes, though the band is only last for two years. However, with Sonny (guitarist) and Sanny (vocalist), they formed Five Minutes in 1994 to follow West Java and Jakarta Band Festival in Bandung. From an event that followed 102 participants, Five Minutes successful to snatch the title and they did not take long to get the “kitchen recordings”. As the result, 5 albums successfully released. Their debut Album was named by the name of their own band, Five Minutes (1996), followed by Five Minutes 2 (1997), Ouw! (1998), Sekat (2003), and The Best + 5 (2004). Their characteristic is displayed above the stage by wearing holsters.

Unfortunately, Sanny and Sonny resigned after the album Best + 5 released. After Drie and Ricky hunting new personnel, Richie (vocals), Roelhilman (guitar), and Aria Yudhistira (drums) was appointed as a new member of Five Minutes. By uninstalling the holster for this closely as their image, album titled Rockmantic released in June 2007 with their hits song on the album, “Bertahan”. Not unexpectedly, the song made Five Minutes print record as the highest debut on the track with a daily radio airplay chart, i.e., debut songs on 3^rd position. Five Minutes back to make a record with their song “Salah Apa” and “Lollipop (Candyman)”, which became the first song debut on radio airplay position directly at position # 1, because a lot of request, and survive at the top chart for 10 weeks.

From the album “Rockmantic” was released, Five Minutes are starting to show identity as bearer of ROckMANTIC songs. Perhaps one of their songs can you make “weapons” to seduce sweetheart (oh, so sweet …). 😀
