Trophic Strategy
Inhabits clear, coral-rich areas of lagoon and seaward reefs. Hides in deserted worm tubes or other small holes when alarmed. Feeds on the skin, mucus and sometimes scales of other fishes by quick attacks. In common with other mimetic fish, resemblance of fangblennies to juvenile bluestreak cleaner wrasse, Labroides dimidiatus, allows them to actively hunt in areas where adult cleaners are common thus, indirectly improving their feeding opportunities .
