Hello all. I think my shark may have cancer, but im not 100% sure. Her tongue has swollen up over the last couple of month. We do not have a vet around here that i can have look at her. I tried the local zoo but have not gotten a response. It has gotten to the point where her mouth will no longer close and is forced open the whole time. Any help would be appreciated! Also, Her diet is frozen shrimp, silversides, squid, and clam. Her eating habbits have not changed and i have not added anything new to the tank in a very long time. She is 22-24" long, so right about max size for her species.

Pittsburgh zoo just e-mailed me. It looks like this is goiter from a lack of iodine and vitamins. I also found my water nitrate testing kit was bad. Bought a new one and have a slightly higher nitrate level (around 80). The fix looks to be adding iodine to the tank and including vitamins in her food along with water changes. Ill keep everyone posted.
