Leopard Wrasse

Macropharyngodon meleagris

IP: Black with very numerous small white spots. Transparent tail and whitish dorsal fin. TP with short head stripes.

Size : 12 cm

Habitat : Inhabits mixed areas of sand, rubble and coral, 5-30 m. Alone or in small groups of a few fish. Small juveniles have a black eyespot at the back on the dorsal fin.

Distribution : The Maldives, Andaman Sea to SW Japan, SE Australia and Samoa.
