Usually with 2-5 dark patches on the lateral line.

Size : 54 cm

Habitat : In coastal waters, near surface in lagoons and out reefs, often also in surf regions of sandy beaches. Alone or in small, loose groups. Feeds on small fish.

Distribution : Red Sea to S Japan, Marshall Islands, Line Islands and French Polynesia.
