Taking a Glimpse of the New Face of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Part of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, the Spouse Program was held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) on 6 September 2023. The Spouse Program was attended by the spouses of the heads of state (First Ladies) attending the summit in Jakarta.

The Spouse Program at TMII was successful and lively. Appearing elegantly in a purple Betawi kebaya encim with a floral motif complete with a shawl of the same color, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo welcomed all the First Ladies.

Various activities were carried out by the First Ladies at TMII, such as visiting the painting gallery and watching disabled children create multiple works of art, watching traditional Betawi dance performances involving a total of 1,500-2,000 dancers, and other art performances.

Furthermore, the First Ladies also enjoyed entertainment and seeing the beauty of the miniature islands in Indonesia in the middle of the lake. More interestingly, the Spouse Program group had the opportunity to see traditional houses and interesting performances from various regions in Indonesia.

What's New at TMII?

Not only was it the location for the Spouse Program during the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, but TMII's popularity has been known for a long time. After having been revitalized for more than a year, or since January 2022, TMII has a new face that is more attractive and contemporary.

The new face of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah carries four important pillars, including green or the eco-park concept, where 70% of the area is green; inclusive for all levels of society; culture, which is a tourist destination that presents the diversity of Indonesian culture; and smart as a focus in the implementation of digital platforms.

TMII has equipped various facilities after being revitalized. One thing that has succeeded in attracting the public's attention is the presence of a Dancing Fountain called "Tirta Cerita." All visitors can also enjoy water attractions directly on the Archipelago Promenade Stage (Panggung Promenade Nusantara).

At TMII, we can also explore "Jagat Satwa Nusantara" (the Archipelago Wildlife World) and visit the Indonesian Museum, which presents various collections of traditional masks, traditional clothes, and exhibitions of woven fabrics and other native Indonesian ones.

We can even enjoy the beauty of the Indonesian archipelago in one day using the iconic TMII Cable Car. After being revitalized, the flagship attraction at TMII has 81 cabins with three stations.

Even though it comes with a new and brighter face, the price of an entry ticket to TMII remains the same. For only IDR25,000, we can explore the stories and cultures of Indonesia without limits at TMII.
