Oxycheilinus digramma (Lacepède, 1801)
Cheeklined wrasse, 40cm

This common species can be seen on lagoon, pinnacle and seaward reefs. It varies somewhat in color. This is an aggressive fish and shows little or no fear of divers.

Immediately after taking the photo below, the fish came in and bit front of the camera.

This one from a lagoon reef may be a color variety.

More juveniles, or possibly female Oxycheilinus bimaculatus..
