Chrysiptera leucopoma (Cuvier, 1830)
Surge damsel, 8cm

These are currently generally considered to be and are listed in the World Register of Marine Species as Chrysiptera brownriggii, but there are suggestions that the Pacific variety should be split off to Chrysiptera leucopoma. These damsels occur in two very different color forms that are apparently unrelated to maturity or sexual dimorphism. They tend to live in shallow surge channels on the seaward reef, often in surgy areas.
