Dir En Grey Set Title & Release Date For New Album

Dir-en-Grey-2014

Japan’s alternative metal titans Dir En Grey have released details for their follow up to 2011’s ‘Dum Spero Spiro‘.

The album will be called ‘Arche‘, which translated from Greek means ‘Origin‘. It appears that many bands are titling their albums with something to do with the bands musical roots in 2014. The band’s 9th studio album will be released on the 10th December, maybe ideal for a little Christmas present?

4 of the 5 members of the band took to say a few words about the upcoming album:

Kyo (vocals):

“This album is being worked on with me thinking about the past and future of myself as a vocalist, more than I have had ever before. That place where the old me and the new me crosses is what is being put into the 9th album Arche.”

Die (Guitars):

“Showing their inclination in regards to the new album from the musical point of view they commented with the following, we will end up with an absolutely new and different sound from Dir En Grey as compared to the previous album.”

Toshiya (Bass):

“No matter how I try to explain this ‘sound’ with words I will never be able to do it.”

Kaoru (Guitars):

“I can’t really be overstating the album, which is yet incomplete, but please wait for that first blow of the force that will be Arche.”

Seems like the band are quite excited about their first effort in 3 years. We will be anticipating this one.
